Tandem Skydiving

Tandem Skydiving in Cairns Australia

Tandem skydiving allows a person with no prior training to experience skydiving. You will be connected via a harness to a professional tandem skydiver. The instructor guides you through the entire jump from exit through freefall, piloting the canopy, and landing. This type of skydiving is a popular choice for first-time jumpers because it allows them to experience the thrill of skydiving with the reassurance of being securely attached to an experienced professional.

Training
Before the jump, participants receive a brief training session where they learn about the equipment, body position during freefall, and what to expect during the jump.

Preparation
After the training, participants are fitted with a jumpsuit, helmet, goggles, and the harness that connects them to the instructor.

Boarding the Aircraft
Participants board the plane with their instructor and ascend to the jump altitude, typically around 10,000 to 14,000 feet (3,000 to 4,200 meters).

The Jump
Once the plane reaches the desired altitude, the tandem pair exits the aircraft. They experience freefall for about 30 to 60 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 120 mph (193 km/h).

Parachute Deployment
At around 5,000 feet (1,500 meters), the instructor deploys the parachute. The descent under the canopy lasts about 5 to 7 minutes.

Landing
The instructor guides the parachute to a safe landing, often in a designated landing area.

Tandem skydiving is considered safe due to the rigorous training of the instructors and the use of specialized equipment. It provides an exhilarating experience while ensuring the participant's safety throughout the process.
